Abstract:

This study aims to examine cultural and gender patterns that are transmitted to children through verbal and non-verbal gestures. These gestures shape children’s gender identity. The theoretical approach is based on the opinions of Herbert Mead, emphasizing the concepts of Mind, Self, and Society. The method of this research is a collection of Anthropological data including ethnography, interviews, and participatory observation. In general, six research fields were selected by purposive sampling from the families of the first district of Tehran and were studied using qualitative methods including observation and interview. The method of data analysis related to interviews is based on thematic analysis. The results of the research show that parents or close caregivers, due to the influence of cultural patterns, transfer gender values to children which shape the children’s gender identity and their interactions. Also, the findings of the field indicate that the relationship between parents and children can affect different dimensions of children’s gender identity. These dimensions include gender classification, gender pressure, gender deprivation, and gender intergroup prejudice. Each of these categories leads to the child’s gender schema. Gender schema is related to a set of patterns and rules that shape the child’s interaction with the outside and inside world. This means that children based on their gender schema in the presence of the stimulus and with the cultural processes that act as mediators, adopt the behavior appropriate to their gender.

Abstract:

. Gender, difference and uniformity of gender rules are considered as fundamental concepts of anthropology of gender. The present research is an attempt to examine Farhad Hassanzadeh's evidences (particularly in the ages of D and H) so as to analyze them based on post structuralism anthropology. Having confirmed the customary insight, understandable expressions, the ideologies that governor on traditional Cultural structures, One pole is the center and the other one is margin. However, as the matter of fact, the mentioned binaries (the two mentioned polars) are not superior to each other. This research, via considering the viewpoint of giving centrality or having one of two poles in nature/culture binary and female/male, analyzes whether the rate of centrality had been given to Female pole and in whose one it has been given to male pole, in which literally work centrifugal has been happened and in which ones it has not. This research shows, in the most discussed fiction centrality of writer characterization is based on male pole and looking manner to women’s character has not been kept a loof from past traditional stereotype Introduction: Life in the modern era, especially from the mid-20th century onwards and after two world wars, has, by a great margin, disrupted all previous assumptions and altered human perceptions of many concepts. In other words, a complete cultural revolution has taken place in society. Gender and how it is addressed is one of the concepts that has undergone significant changes compared to the past. Concurrent with changes in human perspectives on these issues, cultural anthropologists have introduced the branch of gender anthropology, the main concern of which is to explore femininity and masculinity beyond their biological nature. Consequently, it aims to "revert to prioritizing other social categorizations (such as ethnicity, age, religion, and social status) over gender categorization by disregarding the concept of 'femininity' as a cohesive social stratum" (Fekouhi, 2007: 233). Feminist anthropology, as one of the important branches of cultural anthropology, which focuses primarily on gender issues, began in the 1970s and is now evolving into gender anthropology, in which the previous extreme feminist approaches and the focus on the female pole are no longer relevant, and the focus of research is on gender rather than sex. The fundamental belief of this field of study is that there must be a distinction between the "biological characteristics of sexes and the cultural characteristics, referred to as gender.    According to this group's interpretation, 'femininity' is not a biological position but rather a social-cultural one. Therefore, it is assumed that this social-cultural position, which has been adapted to the biological position of women in a particular society, is contractual rather than natural" (Fekouhi, 2007: 232-230). Although in most cases literary works, especially fiction, are not written for direct education or reflection of specific ideas, and usually differ significantly from the real world due to the presence of elements of imagination and fantasy, sometimes stories can explore concepts that the author is considered part of the dominant culture in contemporary society. In this way, one can find the layers of the author's interpretation in the story and, on a broader scale, the society of the author. It should also be noted that in relation to children, the transfer of both direct and indirect positions is important, and from here the importance of children's literature as an element for transmitting various concepts becomes doubly important. Methodology: Thus, the present study turns to children's literature from the perspective of two authors of different and indeed influential genders to explore their gender perspectives and to search for the relevant examples in these works based on descriptive-analytical and interdisciplinary approaches in line with the theory of dualities of cultural anthropology. Gender anthropology believes that the characteristics of men and women in any society are shaped, reflected, and transformed in its literature, art, and culture. The confrontation between men and women and in some cases the superiority of one over the other is the result of the dominance of specific ideological forms in some thoughts, not the result of the different nature of men and women. Results and Discussion: From the examination of selected stories, it is evident that characters are often nurtured based on the concept of gender rather than sex, and in most cases, biological differences are considered the factor behind gender differences. In the stories of Judge Noor, the title of the story and the name of the book are often masculine, and in his storytelling, men are also presented in a more favorable position, introduced with higher awareness and knowledge compared to women. They are depicted as readers, not credulous, and not simple-minded. In most stories, they are the heads of the family and are considered decision-makers, but in terms of emotion, responsibility, and family care, they are shown to be inferior to women. Men in these stories are often harsh and unemotional, lacking a proper relationship with their spouses and children, often unemployed and unable to provide for their families, leading them to resort to violence, which naturally victimizes the family, primarily women. However, this can also be attributed to societal status, family welfare, and individuals' ignorance during the narrative timeframe. In these stories, the author sometimes introduces a newer generation with more positive attributes; they are aware and courageous, striving to create positive changes in their lives, with men having a greater share in this. With the passage of time and in a period of rapid cultural change, which is witnessing the greatest gap between generations, the difference in the type of perspective on the issue of gender in previous and present works appears natural. Therefore, the intellectual growth and change in society's perspective on gender have led to a noticeable difference in later books by Hassan Zadeh compared to his earlier works. One of the indications of this is the increased presence of women in society and the subsequent growth of central characters in the form of women's gender. Women in these stories have a more favorable position in terms of livelihood, welfare level, thinking, awareness, satisfaction, health level, and social presence. Sometimes, the audience in the stories is confronted with signs of female dominance and the predominance of women's will and power, and changes in women's temperament and character (from avoidance of dominance to seeking dominance and even violence), something not seen in the works of other selected authors. Conclusion: However, the dominant view still influences the stories, and in most cases, female characters are depicted in a way that they lack intellectual and financial independence, have simple beliefs, are interested in superstitions, and are captives of undesirable affairs falsely attributed to religion. In contrast, men are more aware, considered the economic and intellectual pillars of the family, have made significant positive changes in terms of emotion and affection, have appropriate relationships with their spouses and children in most stories, and are presented as more positive and complete characters.

Abstract:

The present paper introduces and criticizes the book entitled "philosophical anthropology" authored by "Hans Dierkes". In this book, the author has selected texts containing educational perspectives on the subject matter of the discussion, which have been proposed mainly without any comprehensive analysis and deep systematization. After mentioning four levels of philosophical anthropology proposed by "Dierkes" and criticizing them, this paper talks about the importance of paying attention to the new approach called "dimensional anthropology", and in addition to investigating the anthropology classification in the book structure, it has referred to the proposed quadripartite model in the human exposure to self, nature, society, and God. In the following, the similarities and differences between the anthropological perspectives are explained using analytical-critical method and it paves the way for their philosophical criticism. Accordingly, the most important finding of this research is that most the anthropological perspectives have paid attention to one or more than one dimensions of human facets and have been magnified, and there is few perspectives in which one can achieve the analysis of the relation and interaction between all human forces, indicating the importance of paying attention to the philosophical and methodological foundations of "dimensional anthropology". This book is very helpful with regard to opening scientific horizons and posing main anthropological questions, but presenting any definition of the realm and examples of philosophical anthropology depends on the explanation of the "subject" and "method" of such approach and no clear boundary can be found between the four levels of philosophical anthropology proposed by "Dierkes" without having an accurate perspective on its components.

Abstract:

Purpose- This research aims to identify and describe the first theoretical approaches in the process of the formation of the concept of gender and shows that the conceptual distinction between sex and gender based on the background of Western thought was formed in a period of 70 years.Methodology-With the theoretical perspective of Foucault's paleontology, the research follows the process of formation and the first appearances of the formation of the concept of gender to its formative foundation and shows what forces, theories and relationships Brind has organized the concept of gender. Paleontology is based on the concept of "possibility". In the sense that after the discovery of the first historical appearances of a phenomenon, the answer to the question is sought, how did this idea emerge?Findings-Analyzing the description and analysis of feminist, psychoanalytical, philosophical ideas and the views of Parsons' work shows that anthropological findings and Freudian concepts are the focal point in gender discussions and connect other ideas about gender issues like a connecting link. The model of kinship structure in Strauss' perspective and the term women's exchange play an important role in feminist literature before and after Oakley. Although the philosophical approaches of Debois are understood in Heidegger's theoretical tradition, the influence of anthropology plays an important role in the formation of Debois's point of view. For these theories, it becomes the basis for conceptual distinctions in Oakley's opinion and the separation of the concept of gender from gender. Although the concepts of role and base of Parsonzi and his successors are also loaded on this theoretical platform and highlight the gender roles and their dependence on the social situations of the two sexes. Lacan also creates newer perspectives on gender by using the literature of Freud and Strauss, and Irigaray has newer answers to gender differences by criticizing the traditional ideas of psychoanalysis and philosophy. Finally, the psychoanalytic views of Freud, Lacan and Lévi-Strauss with an anthropological approach had a major contribution in the process of constructing gender and led to discredit the idea that gender inequalities are a natural and unchangeable reality

Abstract:

Anthropology, along with cosmology and theology, are the three basic pillars of the underlying thought of any school of philosophy, theology and ideology. The identity and nature of man, the truth of his body and soul, the connection and interaction of soul and body, their story after death in the world of purgatory and then the resurrection day, and finally, the way the body and soul are intermingled are among the most important issues. The anthropology of Shaykhiya school has largely been affected with Sadrai school of anthropology. The impact can be attributed to Sheikh Ahmad Ahsaei’s deliberations with references to Mulla Sadra’s works. Although Ehsai accepts the essential movement of the soul and acknowledges the physical resurrection like Sadra, because of his difference with Sadra in his explanation of the human body and the nature of the world of examples, purgatory, the promise of the world of Horqalia, and finally, the resurrection day, he presents a picture different from the picture depicted in transcendental wisdom.

Abstract:

Biological Anthropology had been considerably changed from beginning to now. From 19th to Mid-20th century, the race has been the principal concept in bio-anthropologic researches.Since Mid- 20th, the concept of race replaced with the new subjects. The second half of 20th century can be counted as the transition period for bio- anthropology. The three last decades of 20th century are the decades of increasingly growth of the discipline. Throughout these years the discipline goes ahead from a general situation to a more specialized one. The specialties such as Human genetics, Primatology, Human economy and paleoanthropology are the most important specialties which are developing right now. In 21st, a new important approach named bio-cultural approach established under the discipline in which both biological and culture aspect are include when studying a human issue. Nutritional Anthropology, Embodiment and Medical Anthropology and Neural Anthropology are some of its sub- areas. These sub-areas are considered as the most practical areas in contemporary anthropology. This article deals with this new approach and its sub- areas.

Abstract:

Background: Some skeletal criteria especially for bones of lower limbs are considerably different between men and women that may help in identifying the gender. We studied two lower limbs parameters, i.e. bicondylar width and vertical diameter of the femoral head based on radiographic assessment in gender identification. Methods: Bicondylar width and vertical diameter of the femoral head of 280 radiographs taken from people aged 30 to 75 years were measured. Additionally, gender and age subgroups were recorded and added to the measured anthropometric parameters in the checklist of the study. Results: The mean width of both left and right bicondylar bones as well as vertical diameter of both left and right femoral heads were significantly different between men and women. Considering two parameters of bicondylar width and vertical diameter of femoral head, the measurements could differentiate gender, with 96.7% sensitivity, 72.2% specificity, and 96.0% accuracy. Conclusion: By measuring bicondylar width and vertical diameter of the femur head, it is possible to determine gender with a high discriminative capability.
